Convert Cadence Bank CSV to QuickBooks (.QBO)
Works with Cadence Bank CSV and Excel exports Nothing uploaded
Cadence Bank offers a QuickBooks Web Connect (.qbo) download for some accounts, usually through the desktop direct connect path. That works when QuickBooks accepts the connection, but many bookkeepers hit it after the bank consolidated its online banking platforms (the legacy BancorpSouth and Cadence systems merged), and the QBO option does not always show for every account type.
When the .qbo download is missing or the file will not import, the reliable fallback is to export your transactions as CSV or Excel and convert that file yourself. In Cadence online banking, open the account, set a date range, and look for the Export or Download option (CSV / spreadsheet). The CSV gives you the raw data, but QuickBooks Online will not accept it without the right columns, and QuickBooks Desktop will not read a CSV at all.
QBO Maker converts a Cadence CSV or Excel file into a proper .QBO (Web Connect) file right in your browser. It reads the dates, descriptions, and amounts, builds a valid OFX structure, and gives you a file QuickBooks treats like a normal bank download. Nothing leaves your computer. A typical Cadence Bank export has columns like Date, Description, Amount, Balance, Check Number and uses MM/DD/YYYY dates. QBO Maker auto-detects these, just confirm the mapping.
How to import Cadence Bank statements into QuickBooks
- Export your transactions from Cadence Bank online banking as CSV or Excel.
- Open the QBO Maker converter and drop the file in.
- Confirm the auto-detected date, amount (or separate debit/credit) and description columns.
- Choose .QBO as the output and click download.
- In QuickBooks Online: Transactions → Bank transactions → Upload from file, then select the .QBO. In Desktop: Banking → Bank Feeds → Import Web Connect File.
Cadence Bank-specific things to watch for
- Two legacy platforms. After the BancorpSouth and Cadence merger, export screens and column labels can differ depending on which account you are viewing. Check the header row before mapping.
- QBO option is inconsistent. Some account types show a Web Connect download and some only show CSV or Excel. If the .qbo link is missing, export CSV and convert it here.
- Running balance column. Cadence often includes a Balance column. QuickBooks does not need it, so leave it out of the amount mapping to avoid double-counting.
- Date range matters. Cadence exports respect the date range you set on screen. Confirm the range covers the full period before downloading.
QuickBooks Online vs Desktop
QuickBooks Online: Transactions → Bank transactions → Upload from file → choose your .QBO. QuickBooks Desktop: Banking → Bank Feeds → Import Web Connect File. Desktop is stricter about the bank ID, Cadence Bank's routing number is often 084201278, which we prefill when you open the converter from this page.
Frequently asked questions
Does Cadence Bank export a QBO file directly?
Sometimes. Cadence supports QuickBooks Web Connect (.qbo) for certain accounts, usually via the desktop direct connect setup. If you do not see the option, or the file fails to import, export a CSV or Excel file instead and convert it with QBO Maker.
Which routing number does Cadence Bank use?
Cadence Bank uses several routing numbers by region. A common one is 084201278 (Mississippi). The routing number on your file does not have to match your real account for the import to work; QuickBooks uses it as an identifier, so any valid value is fine.
Why will QuickBooks not accept my Cadence CSV?
QuickBooks Online needs CSV columns in a specific layout (Date, Description, Amount or separate Debit and Credit), and QuickBooks Desktop does not read CSV at all. Cadence exports do not match that layout out of the box. Converting to .QBO removes the guesswork because QuickBooks reads QBO as a native bank download. See importing CSV into QuickBooks Online.
Is my bank data uploaded anywhere?
No. QBO Maker runs entirely in your browser. Your Cadence transactions are read and converted on your own computer, and the file never touches a server.
